Bill: Salary of the Government
Details
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3840
Description[?]:
Members of parliament and/or government receive the highest salaries in the country, far above the salaries of other citizens. This is not right, although the government works hard, they should not be paid more than every other citizen and we believe the members of the government should be doing this job not for the money, but simply because they want to make the country a better place and thus we propose we entitle our government to an average salary; it's enough to live comfortably off but not too much. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, If we do not pay members of our government highly competitive salaries, then how can we expect to attract our nation's best and brightest to the business of statecraft when the private sector will pay them such higher salaries. |

Message | People shouldn't run the country just for money, they should run the country because they WANT to, because they have a passion for doing what is right. If we continue to have high salaries above anyone else in Luthori, then that will continue to attract corrupt politicians who only do the job to better only themselves, to become wealthy and leach of the country. People who would truly benefit the country by being in power wouldn't be doing the job merely for money, they'd be doing it because they genuinely want to do what's best for Luthori and it's people and as a result we offer an average wage which is enough for them to live comfortably. |
