Details
Submitted by[?]: Nieuwe Links Partij || Trpji Apruj Prta
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3844
Description[?]:
Bart Anderson, the longtime leader of the GroenLinks van Vanuku, has been found to be in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, who has already resigned and wishes to stay anonymous. More investigations have also been brought upon Chancellor Anderson for instating a hiring policy based on the women wishing to have sexual relations with him. This is grounds for impeachment and, thus, the Staten-Generaal will vote on the Impeachment of Bart Anderson and the Cabinet of Vanuku for 3842. The charges are: nine counts of obstruction of justice and one count of perjury. |

Message | Prosecution: We have found indisputable evidence that Chancellor Anderson enforced this sexist policy, not only with the woman brought forth but with all future employees. And since the anonymous tip, many more of his staffers have requested these proceedings to protect from anything like this occurring again. This is unprecedented in Vanuku and fairly embarrassing for the nation. We believe that the only way to save our nation's image is to rightfully impeach Chancellor Anderson and his Cabinet effective immediately. |

Message | Defense: We would dispute the charges brought upon Chancellor Anderson and would like to let the record show that two of the eight witnesses against the Chancellor have been dis-proven. It is only a matter of time before all eight would have their stories shown to be inaccurate as well. Our leader has been very effective while in office as well and a political shakeup may worry the people of Vanuku. It would be reactionary and dismissive of the Democratic process to impeach our Chancellor on these charges. |

Message | OFFICIAL GROENLINKS VAN VANUKU STATEMENT: Due to the following charges of impeachment against current GroenLinks party member, Bart Anderson, we have decided to remove our support of him for the next election and for the time being. We believe that these charges have basis and should be considered carefully by the Staten-Generaal in the proceedings. Our party is also launching a full scale investigation, both into Chancellor Anderson's case and into the hiring practices of other party senators. We wish current Chancellor Anderson the best in the future and will announce our next candidate for Chancellor after the trial. Thank you. Now we will answer some of the media's questions. Question: Does this impeachment trial concern the GroenLinks van Vanuku Party that another party might capitalize on the scandal to beat the party in the next election? Answer: No, we are confident that the people of Vanuku can look past this and look instead at the great changes for the middle-class that have been enacted all over this nation. If you look at the issues, we are still doing very well here. Question: Are these actions common for GroenLinks van Vanuku senators to make their staff? Answer: No, and if they are, then we will remove our support for them in the upcoming election. Our investigation should reveal if these practices are used anywhere else in the party. Question: Would you consider the current one-party system a dictatorship as some of the media have claimed? Answer: Of course not. If another party were interested in joining our quest to make the lives of the Vanuku people better, then we welcome the competition. Question: Why did you immediately remove your support for Chancellor Anderson? Did your party know something the general public were not aware of? Answer: We have certain protocols prepared for situations and this situation was one we were prepared for. All members of this party know that if they obstruct the hiring system in an illegal way, then we will immediately remove our support from them. That is what this case is of course about; the unfair hiring practices employed by Chancellor Anderson, and we reacted in an appropriate fashion. Question: But the charges haven't even been proven yet! Is that not a very unfair system to hold? Answer: Chancellor Anderson was in a very similar situation as a young senator at the party and was instructed that any further actions like such would result in the relinquishment of our support for him. Question: So isn't the past incident very hypocritical for your party to hold after you said you would immediately remove support for a candidate with such actions? Answer: That's all we have time for guys, thank you all for your questions. |

Message | Judge: We will now ask the senators to vote guilty or not guilty. 151 seats would have to vote guilty in order for him to be convicted. |
