MessageThis budget would set Telamon's priorities straight. Defence spending will see a substantial reduction to reflect the scaling back of the military and the fact that we will no longer be paying for the building and maintenance of nuclear weapons. Education receives a substantial boost to reflect the investment in a public system under the Education Bill. Health services also receive extra funding and there will be additional investment in infrastructure projects. The environment budget more than doubles to reflect this government's commitment to preserving our ecological system.

MessageThe NRP wish that the cuts to defense could be more moderate, as the massive reduction that the government has planned would fundamentally reduce the preparedness of our military. However, we do appreciate the fact that government spending as a whole is not increasing very much and, as more revenue will be raised by your tax proposal, leaves open a large surplus from which we can afford to cut consumption taxes.
