Bill: Rights of Criminals Act of 3846
Details
Submitted by[?]: Solentian National Party (SNP)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3847
Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, honored members of this body, we submit to you today the following proposals. We feel strongly that the following steps must be taken immediately. We, the Democratic Republic of Solentia, must remember that the first word of our nation's name is "Democratic." What, may I ask, is a democracy? It is a system of government in which the power is vested in the people. May I repeat that to you all, the power is vested in the people. Let us remember that! No in any one specific group of people or the other, but rather in the people as a whole. How then can we justify the flogging or torturing of people? Surely we cannot. These acts are taking power over a person at the expense of that person. Such actions are incompatible with the system of government that we claim to have. Let us, together, do the right thing and end these barbaric practices. For the sake of democracy. For the sake of the Democratic Republic of Solentia. |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
