| Mr. Speaker, We do NOT support current law. The RDP passed this law that let discipline levels be set by local governments. We believe in a FREE MARKET CAPITALIST economy where each private school can set its OWN discipline levels. If parents don't like the nuns in their local Catholic School of tapping their children with a ruler, they can take the Voucher Dollars authorized by Federal Law and transfer their children to the private school owned by the Public School Teachers' Union who does NOT use corporal punishment. It is about FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY!!! We thought this supported a FREE MARKET??? If we did, we would support the MARKET rewarding schools that used non-contact discipline and PUNISHING schools that use physical contact by BANKRUPTING them since Parents will take their children out of the schools that use physical contact. It is up to the PARENTS. If parents want teachers to use physical punishment, the decision should be left to the PARENTS and not government bureaucrats who are wholly corrupt and take bribes from organized crime bosses [the mafia]!!!
