Bill: Constitutional Reforms

Details

Submitted by[?]: Progress Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3853

Description[?]:

We are proposing a change to the name of the title of the head of government. We feel that now we don't have a hereditary monarchy the title is unnecessary and creates the idea of a ruling class.

The Liberal Alliance supports a change regarding the Head of Government. But we oppose destroying the monarchy.

MessageMr Speaker,

It is not a question of 'cooler' or 'uncool' it is a question of the fact that people feel disconnected with their representatives because of these titles.

MessageMr. Speaker,

It is tradition which binds our people together, and this is an important part of Luthorian political history.

MessageMr. Speaker,

It is also tradition which has kept our people in the chains of oppression.

MessageTruth is "Imperial Seal-Bearer" is both unrepresentative and in all honesty a rather stupid and ridiculous name. To heck with tradition, it's time for progress in Luthori. Stop thinking about out past and start thinking about our future. It's a wonder why people still vote for the Cavalier Party, with backwards policies and quite frankly since the past election they have been completely inactive until just now.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
