Description[?]:
Senators, Time and time again we Pagans have tried to reach a compromise with our Hosian compatriots, so that we may live together in peace in the nation we share. We condemned the anti-Hosian violence perpetrated by the APL terrorists, we supported bans on barbaric practices of foreign religions, and we tried numerous times to achieve equal recognition for our two faiths. Instead, Hosians constantly attempt to impose their faith over the others, threatening the fragile peace between our communities that was so hard to achieve. The only Hosian group willing to hear our grievances numbers fewer than 100 adherents, while the largest Church constantly attempts to outlaw all others. Senators, In spite of these obstacles, we remain as committed to religious peace as ever. We once again extend the olive branch of reconciliation to our Hosian co-citizens, asking only for the right to practice our respective faiths in a spirit of mutual understanding and tolerance. Our terms remain the same as always. Neither of our two religions is to be placed above the other, neither should oppress or discriminate against the other, and both should receive the utmost respect and support of the Republic, so that with the blessing of the Divine we may all prosper in this great nation we share. Conscript Fathers, To that end, we propose the following measures: the Selucian Patriarchal Church and Religio Seluciana shall both be recognized as the official state religions of the Res Publica, without hindering in any way the rights of those of other religions or those who do not have one. The temples of the two religions are to be funded and maintained from the public treasury, their clergy shall be financed by the state, and full respect shall be paid to their Divinities. In return, the clergy and faithful of the Selucian Patriarchal Church and Religio Seluciana are to recognize the authority of the Republic in secular matters, and are to pray to the Deity for the well being of the Republic and its leaders. This, we believe, will restore concord to Selucia and allow all of us to live at peace with each other. Maio Palpellia Vindex, Senatrix, Ministra of Education |
