Bill: Call for early elections, June 3857

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: February 3858

Description[?]:

We, the Anarchist Party of Solentia (APS), call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus. Solentian Tradition calls for this. It only makes sense for the voters of the socialists to be given a chance to vote for someone else.

Message"There have been elections every year for the last three years, to hold yet another early election is beyond preposterous! It is beyond absurd! It borderlines the insane! Not only because the people of this country not had a stable government for more than a year in the last four years, but because election are also costly and expensive. The people are tired of campaigns, the parties are tired of campaigns, the people are tired of ads, and mailers and door knockings, and phone calls. Let this government sit and finish it's term. There will be elections soon enough!"

Message"We recognize the Greens' desire to have people in Solentia that don't have elected officer representing them. We don't want government, but it's not fair to have certain people that have representatives and certain people who don't."

ToDebating the Call for early elections, June 3857
Message"We would repeat to the Anarchists what we just stated. We have had elections for the last four years. That is absurd. The people deserve a government. Should the people of this country go another year without a stable government because some people are missing representation? We certainly don't think so. Should the people of this country foot another bill for another election because there are some people without a voice in this government? We think not. Especially when there will be an election soon enough. We cannot hold early elections every time a party leaves or a new one springs up. People seem content to vote for early elections at the drop of a hat as of late. It's not good for our country. We have had early elections before cabinets are passed here lately. The people of this country deserve consistency, stability, if just for a little while. There will be elections soon enough to fill empty seats. Let's wait until regular elections. Let the newer parties make their case for why they should fill the empty seats. "

Message"We recognize the Greens' desire to have unrepresented Solentians, and we will keep that desire in mind. They have disrespected millions of people with their decision."

Random fact: The influence a bill has on elections decreases over time, until it eventually is no longer relevant. This can explain shifts in your party's position to the electorate and your visibility.
