Bill: National Anthem in Schools

Details

Submitted by[?]: Grand Republican Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2173

Description[?]:

The Grand Republican Party believes that allowing pupils in the school system to sing the national anthem (Especially now we have one) at special occassions like national days, would improve moral and increase pride in our country in the pupils, whilst not forcing them to sing it every day.

Addendum: Pupils not wishing to sing the national anthem at these events may opt out without punishment

MessageOOC: problem is that the game is hardcoded to say "made to sing", even on special occasions.

MessageOOC: Thats what the addendum is there for. Worked perfectly fine the last time I passed this - most accepted the addendum. Thats what they're there for, to allow for flexibility.

MessageOOC: I have nothing against addendums but not when they directly contradict what the hardcoded proposal says. Sorry.

MessageOOC: you can make this a resolution, i.e. without the proposal.

"Children are never made to sing the national anthem." does not contradict with *suggesting* the anthem be sung but not forcing kids. I'd vote for that too.

MessageOOC: I fail to see how that contradicts. They are made to sing on special occassions, but those who say they don't want to, can opt out. I fail to see the contradiction there.

MessageOOC: "made to sing" means obligation. Explicitly. And it is coded that way too, making children sing the anthem is in all likelyhood anti-CR and isolationalist. I.e. something nationalists and conservatives like.

MessageAgainst, because it is arbitary. We would vote in favour of a law that said "Schools may choose whether or not to sing the national anthem".

MessageOOC; The hardcoded legislation can be 'bent' to our needs. I refer you to your religious taxation bill, in which you add onto the hardcoded option for religious taxation, for an example.

MessageOOC: It will still screw up our stats. Propose an addition to this legislation on the "Creating the Law" forum.

MessageAs is saying you believe in free speech when you support incitement to hated laws. We thought the RSDP would support this due to their lack of regard for any logic or sense.

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
