Bill: The Mordusian Bishopalism Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conquest Party of Mordusia
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3875
Description[?]:
The policies of this act will help to ensure that our nation is following the proper guidance of our Church leaders. The ideals of our church are divinely inspired. This bill also clarifies that Mordusian Bishopalism is the Official Religion of Mordusia. This was already implied by current law considering that the majority of Mordusians are Bishopal, and considering that current law calls for an official state religion. |

Date | 08:46:58, July 05, 2015 CET | From | Republican People's Party | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | The reversal of the achievements of the past seems to be the goal of the Conquest party. We cannot and will not support the transformation of Mordusia into a backward Medieval country. |
Date | 09:25:56, July 05, 2015 CET | From | Conquest Party of Mordusia | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | We would hardly consider killing a perfectly healthy, unborn child, an 'achievement'. |
Date | 11:20:49, July 05, 2015 CET | From | Republican People's Party | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | The right of a woman to actively conduct family planning, including through birth control and, if desired, through abortion is indeed an achievement. The currently proposed amendments to existing laws do not even allow an abortion for women to have an abortion in case of rape. We also will remain opposed to any attempts to make Mordusia a religious theocracy, for example, as proposed by changing the name of the Head of State; by the adopted changes in the Mordusian education system. We cannot and will not accept the requirement for citizens to register their religion as this provides ground for discrimination. |
Date | 14:03:46, July 05, 2015 CET | From | Alliance Res Publica | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | We support Articles 2 and 3 concerning abortion. The other articles, in our opinion, take things a step too far. Society should be encouraged, through the state church, to uphold the cultural and spiritual tenets of the One True Faith; however, we hold that the Creator has granted free will, including the rights to determine one's own belief. There's no reason to register one's religion. We will oppose any titles of nobility, but will support Article 1 of the Bill. |
Date | 14:25:35, July 05, 2015 CET | From | Fatherland Republic | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | We will backup the Republican People's Party on their stance. Our focus is to preserve the Republic with balanced power. We cannot support such radical religiousness. |
Date | 15:12:42, July 05, 2015 CET | From | Republican People's Party | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | The Government should not have a say in religious matters. It is for the people to choose whether to actively practice religion or refrain from it. The proposals from the Conquest Party are nothing less than attempts to transform Mordusia into a theocracy, thus reversing the democratic achievements of many generations. We will oppose such proposals and reverse them as soon as we will have the necessary number of seats in the Counsel. |
Date | 20:33:09, July 05, 2015 CET | From | Conquest Party of Mordusia | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | Based on the input of the other parties we will remove the articles of abortion from this bill and present them as a new bill. |
Date | 05:09:38, July 11, 2015 CET | From | Conquest Party of Mordusia | To | Debating the The Mordusian Bishopalism Act |
Message | We have removed the requirement for registration of religion from the bill. |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
