Bill: NPH opposes treason

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free White Castle and The People Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2170

Description[?]:

Recent statements indicates there is reason to be concerned that supporters of the DUP will not effectively work in the new Luthori military. If DUP supporters cannot be trusted to obey a female or homosexual commanding officer, they pose a risk to the effectiveness of military operations.

Therefore I feel it might be necessary to have the DUP take an oath in support the current defense policy or pass a resolution excluding DUP members from the military.

MessageI'm voting no due to the fact that this is a misrepresentation of the DUP's reasons for opposition. I might not agree with him on the issue, but I'm against negative campaigning. Under the current (in game) slander laws, the DUP can sue (in game) the WCP for this.

MessageSlander laws generally require 2 elements, A) Falsity of claim and B) malice. Neither could be demonstrated under these cirumstances. The DUP continually uses pejoratives in regards to homosexuals, his apparent lack of respect is problematic in a military context. Therefore, my accusation was not that he has been treasonous, but could potentially be so. The resolution was not intended to go to vote so quickly. Instead I simply wanted a statement that he will support our army despite the fact that it contains homosexuals. There was no claim, simply an inquiry, which does not meet the first element of slander. Second, no malice was intended in the statement. He continually expresses his dislike for homosexuals in less than polite language, therefore it is impossible that I intended to besmirch his reputation by making such an inquiry.

However, my original question has yet to be answered, will the DUP and its supporters take orders from homosexual and female commanding officers? If they will not, I propose that DUP supporters be excluded from the military. If he will support the military as structured, I propose that we have a resolution pledging fealty to Luthori and its military.

MessageThe DUP is most grateful of the support of the other parties. There will be no pledge to obey criminals who have no place in His Imperial Majesty's Armed Forces. Our supporters will simply avoid contact with the Pink Brigades, or choose to serve in the LVF/UDA instead.

MessageSee, he refuses to obey homosexual commanding officers. This cannot be allowed in a military context, people are not allowed to choose w/ whom and when they fight. We must exclude DUP members from the military.

MessageHe does support not following the orders of his superiors...

Imagine in the heat of battle if a soldier would not follow his commanding officer because he/she is black, or he/she is a jew, or he/she is homosexual! It could cost a battle! We must prevent such a thing from happening! The Fatherland DEMANDS it!

MessageHe also supports paramilitary groups whose purpose is to cower the minorities into submission! That leads to the weakening of the state!
