Description[?]:
NEWS {Today the AFF (Army of Free Farmers) led a mass protest. More than 80,000 people marched from the countryside into Walvisplek, the capital of Saridan. The protesters demanded that the Nationalists either alter their platform or resign from parliament. The AFF protesters were met by light police resistance, however the protests were peaceful. Andries Van Tyler led the protest and gave a speech. He said the following. "Greeting My Fellow Saridanis, The AFF believes in Freedom of Speech and expression. However, we will not stand to have people in our parliament that support racial discrimination, segregation, and an end to the very freedom of speech that we let them hide behind. They wish to turn Saridan from a great nation, to a once great nation. They wish to turn us from a nation that provides assistance to oppressed people and uproots tyrannical governments, to a nation that needs another nation to uproot our tyrannical and oppressive government. I will not stand for this. We will not stand for this! Saridan will not stand for this!! So I demand that all nationalists either retract their racist and fascist statements, or that they resign, IMMEDIATELY!!! The Nationalists are a danger to Saridan and the many freedoms us Saridani's enjoy. We must not let this dire threat reside in our parliament! RESIGN! RESIGN! RESIGN! (crowd chants with him)" The PUAU has not stated it's stance on this protest but has assured the media that it had no involvement whatsoever.} Mr Spreker, I feel this event is necessary to discuss. The PUAU is still examining the protest and formulating our official response, feel free to make comments. George Van Tassel VK OOC: I am posting this here and on the forums, not sure if the nationalists use the forums so I put it here. Btw, this does not really mean much, do not worry nationalists you do not have to resign lol, but I figured some RP always makes things interesting. |

Message | Mr Sprekre I think that these actions are actually disgraceful and do NOT represent the views of the Saridani people. These people have obviously become members of some disrespectful alliance. we would advise that, being the party of farmers, the PUAU, states that it against this. They talk about freedom of speech, but they are denying our freedom of speech. I will be publishing our full reaction to this shortly. |

Message | Mr Spreker, We have considered the protests and the protester's requests. We have concluded that the protester's requests are unacceptable. While we are strongly against the Nationalist's views, and even the nationalists themselves, we will uphold freedom of speech. These MP were fairly elected and therefore do represent a part of the populace. Therefore we reject the request of resignation. We reject these MP's views, but accept the fact that they were elected. However, we would like to also send our support to the protesters. Protest is an excellent way to engage in politics. However, if these protests become violent and dangerous, we will revoke our support for them. Hopefully these protests will make the populace aware of how dangerous the Nationalists are. Message | Mr Spreker, Keeping in mind safety of the inhabitants of our capital, the Politiekorps van Saridan have been ordered to strictly follow the protesters as resistance from far-right militant groups is expected to be encountered. The police of Kaap has been put on alert with both motorcycle, foot and car patrols ensuring the safety of Walvisplek. I'm responsible for ensuring the safety of Saridan and I shall fulfill my duties properly. These protests are going to be tolerated until they turn violent, if that happens we will have to intervene. This is the end of my statement on behalf of the Ministerie van Recht en Rechtvaardigheid(Ministry of Law and Justice), the Kanselier of Saridan will shortly speak on this floor.
