Bill: Nobility Reforms 3878

Details

Submitted by[?]: Choice

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3879

Description[?]:

Currently, nobility confers only titles and certain minor rights, but no political powers, and can be hereditary. However we believe that nobility should not in the least be hereditary! People should only be allowed to gain titles via their own merits, not their ancestors.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.

Random quote: "Someone who wields power in name only can never compete with those who wield it through action." - Franz Reichert, former Luthorian politician
