Message | Anyway, here's the reason why we oppose this bill: Unions negotiate with bosses on behalf of the workers. These negotiations benefit all workers, including those who are not union members. Now, if you could benefit from the activity of unions without joining them (and therefore without paying union dues), you'd have no good reason to join a union. Thus unions would lose members, therefore lose power, therefore be unable to negotiate on behalf of the workers any more. |

Message | Yes, our party does what is best for the people, even non-members, and so should I propose compulsary membership of the Conservative Party? Nonsense! Nobody should be forced to join a union and have to pay for it against their will. |

Message | And why are the commies in this country so damn arrogant? Thanks to the Communist Party of Endralon for at least debating the issue but there seems to be an institutional arrogance amongst the commies! |

Message | It's not arrogance you sense. It's the absolute unabashed disgust for capitalism and its champions. ;-) |

Message | Let me say, that feeling is very much mutual my friend. However, seeing as we are representatives of the people, I think we should be civil, conduct democratic debates and exchange ideas. |

Message | we were civil , we all imformed you how we would vote without any kind of attack , forgive me if I do not feel like re-debating such a commonly discussed issues , In issues like this we all understand why the left and right defend their sides , if you want a debate Im sure we'd be happy to comply but you might have to ask more explicitly so we don't mistake the obviously unpassable(at this time) bill for vote canvasing. |

Message | "Yes, our party does what is best for the people, even non-members, and so should I propose compulsary membership of the Conservative Party?" Whether or not your party does what is best for the people is a subjective question. Unions, on the other hand, OBJECTIVELY do what is best for the workers: they help raise wages, improve working conditions etc. While there are many people who are not conservatives, I don't think there are any people who don't want better wages and working conditions. |

Message | Well what if the leader of the union is corrupt? Noone can leave the union, so this leader can do whatever he wants. The point I was trying to make with the comparison to our party is that maybe not everyone supports unions. Bosses definetly dont, and I would wager some honest workers would rather earn higher wages through hard work and good performance in the workplace rather than sitting on their backside for a couple of weeks and ruining the economy. |
