Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

the government monopolizing so many sectors of our economy is a rather sad thing, as it sets an insurmountable entry barrier to the numerous bright, entrepreneurial minds who would love to enter these branches with their innovative start-up projects. Competition should be given way, and artificial obstacles imposed by the state must be removed. Additionally, what scares many talented youngsters from forming their own business is the fact that they cannot lay off workers even if their are objective reasons, potentially forcing them into bankruptcy during times bad times. Finally, what drains the private sector of talent and skill is the fact that the state limits incomes by mandating salary caps, which causes many ambitious citizens to move abroad where they can earn much more.

MessageMr Speaker,

It is a shame that a hon. members opposite do not believe in the promise of Kazulia - the promise of security and dignity and equity in work.

We on this side of the house stand for the right of workers to pursue for their legitimate interests in the workplace without having a gun held to their head, so to speak by powerful transnational corporations.

We stand up for a distribution of income which allows all Kazulians to share in the benefits of our national wealth, which is far preferable to the obscene situation in some other countries where the rich take almost everything and leave little more than scraps to 'trickle down' to their so-called social inferiors.

We stand up for the principle of government intervention where market forces alone cannot justify the continued existence of certain industries, because the working people of Kazulia are so much more than just cogs in a giant capitalist machine.

To the motion before the house, we on this side of the house say, no, no, and no.
