Bill: Anti-Corruption Bill 2054
Details
Submitted by[?]: Patriarchal Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2057
Description[?]:
Considering recent bribery and corruption scandals in other countries, a system must be implemented to deal with this before Davostan suffers such a scandal. If this were to happen, then any bill proposed would be reactionary and, most likely, disproportionate. Therefore, procedures must be implemented now to deal with corrupt politicians. I propose that any member of the HoR, or any civil servant, who is alleged to have been involved in corrupt activity, should be subject to an inquiry by a committee of senior politically-independent civil servants. A petition signed by 10% of the legislature (currently 50 MHoRs) would be required to force such an inquiry. However, if the subject of the inquiry is to be the Head of Government, a 15% petition is required, and for the Head of State, 25%. |
