Description[?]:
Welcome to Valruzia! Or as we say in Valruzian (RL: Polish) „Witamy w Walruzji!” Valruzia is a country located in the northern part of the continent of Selaya. At 1 930 500 km², it is the largest country in Terra by area. Valruzia is based on the real-life country Poland, with its language being Polish (in game, we call it "Valruzian") and culture, and therefore, societal attitudes also heavily based on Poland. ================================ Language ================================ The language of Valruzia, according to the cultural protocols (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=447633), is "Valruzian" or "Język walruzyjski", which is, in essence, Polish. 98% of the population speak the language, and 90% as their first language or mother tougue. The BBC has a basic guide to the Polish language for English speakers: http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/polish/ Here is a list of useful Valruzian words and some basic grammar for game use/roleplaying: Male Valruzian (singular): Walruzjanin Male/Multiple Valruzians (plural): Walruzjanie Female Valruzian (singular): Walruzjanka Female Valruzian (plural): Walruzjanki Valruzian (language): walruzyjski "in Valruzian": "po walruzyjsku" Valruzian (as an adjective): walruzyjski (masculine) walruzyjska (feminine) walruzyjskie (neuter/plural) examples: Valruzian Court: Sąd walruzyjski Valruzian Republic: Rzeczpospolita Walruzyjska Valruzian Kingdom: Królewstwo Walruzyjskie Valruzian Estates-General: Walruzyjskie Stany Generalne ...of Valruzia: ...Walruzji example - Parliament of Valruzia: parlament Walruzji ...in Valruzia: ...w Walruzji example - Embassy of Lodamun in Valruzia: Ambasada Lodamunu w Walruzji Other languages of Valruzia include Zuman/Język zumański (RL: Kaszubian), Keanirelon/Język kajanyrejloński(RL: Hawai'ian using Polish orthography), Dugati/Język długatiński (RL: Sorbian), and Old Valonian/Język starowalruzyjski (RL: Old Polish). If you need help Polonising a RP character name or a party name, contact a Polish-speaking player or ask for assistance on the Particracy forum (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6132) If you want to rename the country, you can find the naming guide here (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6368#p90603) ================================ Religion ================================ Regardless of whether or not you wish to implement a state religion, please keep in mind that the cultural protocols (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=447633) dictate that 52% of the population holds secularist beliefs (Atheist or agnostic without affiliation to organised religion). Also, the game mechanics (http://classic.particracy.net/viewopinions.php?nationid=18#REL) indicate that over 60% of the population is leaning to fanatically secular. Concerning the religious population, the cultural protocols lists the Aurorian Patriarchal Church/Patriarchalny Kościół auroriański (RL: Catholic) as the largest group at 32%, the Terran Patriarchal Church/Patriarchalny Kościół terrański (RL: Orthodox/Eastern-rite Catholic) second at 6%, the Holy Luthori Church/Kościół Święty lutoriański (RL: High Church Protestantism) third at 4%, the Bishopal Church of Valruzia/Biskupalny Kościół w Walruzji (RL: High Church Protestantism) and other faiths tied in fourth with 3% each. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
