WHEREAS The Senate of Valruzia (i.e. the government or cabinet) believes that the former governing party committed treasonous acts against Valruzia, her people, her dignity, and her traditions

WHEREAS The Senate of Valruzia (i.e. the government or cabinet) notes that these treasonous acts were not illegal at the time

THEREFORE His Serene Highness The Elected Grand Prince, with and by the Consent of the House of Envoys, enacts the following:


(1) HSH the Elected Grand Prince shall take the following oath prior to taking office:

« I, [name], swear that, as the Elected Grand Prince of the Most Serene Grand Principality of Valruzia, I will faithfully and impartially serve the People of Valruzia in accordance with her traditions and secularist principles as laid out by the Cultural Protocols of this great country. I also declare and affirm that I have been elected to reign but not govern, and to act as the country's lead diplomat--Valruzia's premiere representative and ambassador to Terra. Niech żyje Walruzja! [Long live Valruzia!] »


(2) The Right Honourable First Senator and Grand Hetman of Valruzia shall take the following oath prior to taking office:

« I, [name], do swear that I will well and truly serve the People of Valruzia in the office of First Senator and Grand Hetman of Valruzia in accordance with her traditions and secularist principles as laid out by the Cultural Protocols of this great country. Niech żyje Walruzja! [Long live Valruzia!] »


(3) The Honourable Senators (i.e. Ministers) of Valruzia shall take the following oath prior to taking office:

« I, [name], do swear that I will well and truly serve the People of Valruzia in the office of Senator of [Ministerial Portfolio] of Valruzia in accordance with her traditions and secularist principles as laid out by the Cultural Protocols of this great country. Niech żyje Walruzja! [Long live Valruzia!] »


(4) The elected Envoys (Members of the Izba Poselska) shall take the following oath prior to taking office:

« I, [name], do swear that I will well and truly serve the People of Valruzia in the office of Envoy for the Hetmanate of [Hetmanate] in accordance with her traditions and secularist principles as laid out by the Cultural Protocols of this great country. Niech żyje Walruzja! [Long live Valruzia!] »


(5) The members of the Valruzian Armed Forces shall take the following oath prior to their enlistment or accepting their commission:

« I, do swear, that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Valruzia and her people, and that I will defend her, her dignity, her people, and her traditions and secularist principles, in accordance with the Cultural Protocols of this great country, against all enemies--foreign and domestic! Niech żyje Walruzja! [Long live Valruzia!] »


(6) Prior to gaining Valruzian nationality or citizenship, applicants shall swear the oath or affirm their allegiance as follows:

« I will give my loyalty to Valruzia and respect its rights and freedoms. I will uphold its democratic values, its traditions, and its secularist principles. I will observe its laws faithfully and fulfil my duties and obligations as a Valruzian citizen. Niech żyje Walruzja! [Long live Valruzia!] »


(7) Refusal to swear the oath or affirm their allegiance by an officeholder-elect or officerholder-designate under §1, §2, §3 and §4 shall result in the said officeholder-elect or officerholder-designate to be barred from serving and their office or seat declared vacant.


(8) An applicant for nationality or citizenship that refuses to swear the oath or affirm their allegiance under §6 shall be denied nationality and/or citizenship


(9) A prospective enlisted member of the Armed Forces or an officer-designate of the Armed Forces that refuses to swear the oath or affirm their allegiance under §5 shall be barred from joining the Armed Forces and/or denied a commission in the Armed Forces.


(10) Violators of §1, §2, §3 and §4 shall be removed from office immediately. They shall be charged and prosecuted for breach of public office, which carries a sentence of 2 years in prison and ban from public office for 10 years if convicted.


(11) Violators of §5 shall referred to the military justice system and they shall face court martial. Conviction shall result in a sentence of no less than 10 years, a demotion to the rank of szeregowy (basic private or basic airman) or marynarz (seaman recruit), and a dishonourable discharge at the completion of their sentence.


(12) The act shall be in force upon assent and publication in the official gazette of the government (Najjaśniejsze Wielki Xięstwo Walruzyjskie (The Most Serene Grand Principality of Valruzia) Daily)
