Message | Mr. Speaker, The Yigu Faction calls for the protection of our subjects and our people. The Imperial Court and the Emperor, with the Mandate of Heaven, must seek to act with compassion and benevolence and aid the suffering workers in our midst, seeking to promote and uplift their welfare. We implore for this bill to be passed to serve the needs of the Indralan workers. Yuan Ling |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The Central Government would like to see what the workers need to be protected from? Due to our policy of "wu wei" in economics, the government is allowing for the market, which to us, ultimately means the people, to regulate themselves in the best way possible to ensure that the government does not profit. There is, however, nothing in the Jienist classics that prevent the government from interfering in the economy when the interests of the government are not at stake regarding profits. Should there be evidence of workers needing government protection, then the Jien Faction will be supporting this motion. However, certain edits would have to be made regarding Articles 1 and 2. Government officials should not have the right to collectively bargain. They are accorded the highest status in the land, some of the highest salaries, and are paid by the public. Negotiating for public monies, simply by threatening the government, therefore the nation, with disruption of state activities, is immoral and anti-meritocratic. As for Article 2, requiring government approval before every fire for a worker on strike could potentially lead to corruption, where unions or employers could pay government officials to act in their favor. I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We thank the officials from the Jienpai Faction for their comments. We believe, however, that government employees should be entitled to the ability to call for and campaign for better wages. We do not consider it greed, Mr. Speaker, for government workers to simply wish for higher wages, and it would be erroneous to assume that state workers are always paid sufficient wages. It is not threatening because workers who strike forfeit their workers for the period of time during which they strike, so it is a sacrifice and forbearance on their part as well. As for Article 2, the Yigu Faction believes that in a perfect scenario, employers should never be allowed to fire striking workers, but we compromised because we were unsure of the beliefs of the officials in the Jienpai Faction. Message | Mr. Speaker, The government is subservient to the people. We cannot make the government subservient to us. Government service is, sometimes, a sacrifice. This sacrifice is not made in vain, for the people can only benefit. Allowing the possibility for government workers, due to their desire to have a higher wage, allows for tax increases without end. Taxes must be low to ensure the prosperity of the people. We simply cannot support government worker strikes. Ultimately, that is not meritocratic. If workers are on strike because they want more pay for a job they do not perform well, should an employer not have the right to fire a striking worker? I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The arguments we would raise to thw Jien Faction are that workers who strike for better wages strike in the hopes of receiving a higher wage for their families and households. They must forgo pay during that period of time, so it is also a sacrifice on the part of the workers, which they would not undertake lightly. Employers should not have the right to fire a striking worker because it would effectively cow workwrs into silence and destroy the ability of any workers to band together and collectively bargain for better working conditions, and that would fundamentally disempower the working-classes. Message | Mr. Speaker, We simply cannot support restricting an employer from making a decision that can ensure long term prosperity. The market should be taking care of worker issues. I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We respect the Jien Faction's commitment to the market, although we firmly believe the state is called to intervene in this matter. With nothing else we suggest we will place this bill to voting. Yuan Ling. |
