Bill: Discussing Cabinet Proposals
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Devolution Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 3926
Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, We the RDP wish to put forth a motion to resolve the issue behind how cabinet proposals work within this chamber. It is no secret that we are struggling to form a working cabinet with the current legislation and now that the NBP's article was defeated we are stuck in a conundrum. An idea to resolve this would be to enforce a motion that would in essence give the largest party the mandate to have the first go at forming a cabinet and after let's say two years for example or if they concede the fact they cannot form a working cabinet then the second biggest party/the opposition may have a go at forming a government and so on. OOC: Basically it would be a gentlemen's agreement between us OOC to stick to this for the sake of RP. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The constitutional right and responsibility to propose a cabinet to the legislature.
Old value:: Only the largest party can propose a cabinet.
Current: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.
Proposed: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.

Message | Mr Speaker, The Progressives agree with such proposal as it can retain the stability in the Parliament while allowing for democracy to run effectively. However, we would like that the time limit is to be set as 6 months (OOC 1 day) to facilitate administration. Paul Stansted President of the Commonwealth |

Message | Mr Speaker, We would be happy to change the time limit in the bill to that which the Progressives has put forth. OOC: I would put up a bill in the debate section if this passed to store this RP bill for easy access and for newer players to see. |

Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer. |
