MessageHerr Talman, This is a counter-productive reform, it is of common-sense that only the largest parties should be able to propose a cabinet.

MessageI don't see why... a coalition involving two or three smaller parties might be better than a coalition involving the largest party, and it is only democratic that the best or largest coalition forms a government, rather than the one with the largest party in it. Also, it will make elections and coalition building more interesting.

Yes - LS, DS, ES, M = 66%
No - L, T, NB, S = 34%

MessageWe are deeply concerned by the actions of the Republikanerna, in blocking a constitutional amendment that has the backing of the majority of the Riksdag. We urge you to reconsider, as we do not see why you oppose a move that would benefit all parties, in terms of getting a message across to the electorate and having a chance to form a stable government. While your actions are of course constitutionally acceptable, they are undemocratic to an extent because they go against the clear will of all other parties, who together hold a majority in the Riksdag.

MessageThis is not an undemocratic move, we do not agree with the amendment, thus we will vote against it. Any constitutional change requires two-thirds of the votes. We find it disturbing that some populist parties rush out constitutional amendments without a proper debate. We would like to add to that the the Social Democrats have no mandate in the Riksdag of Telamon, as they currently hold no seats.

MessageWe would welcome an explanation of the particular aspects of the bill the Republicans take issue with, or what topics they feel were not debated sufficiently. We understand our position outside the Riksdag, but our proposal does have the support of the majority of members, and therefore vetoing the bill is against the will of the majority of the democratically elected representatives of the people, and so is undemocratic to some extent. We would once again like to attempt to persuade the Republikanerna to reconsider their understandable but nevertheless unhelpful position on this key issue.

MessageWe understand that as the largest party at present the Republikanerna may not feel this bill helps them, but there are more seats held by socialist parties at present than by the Republikanerna, and it is conceivable that at some point in the near future it may benefit you to be able to propose a cabinet, even if you are not the largest party, perhaps with a centrist coalition partner.

MessageThe Republican party recieved around 37.7% of the votes, and we will not let our voters down. We will not change our current position and will continue to veto constitutional amendments.

MessageJust to clarify that your position is to veto all constitutional amendments, not just this one? What are your reasons for doing this? It's not as if that's what the people voted for in particular.

MessageThe current parliamentary situation is a perfect example for why this is needed. The largest party is not part of the parliamentary majority, thus making it nearly impossible for them to create a cabinet.

MessageHerr Talman, it is now obvious that Republikanerna do not care for the wellbeing of the nation, as they seem to only care about votes. The number of votes one receives and the benefit of decisions made do not necessarily correlate.
