Bill: Recycling V2

Details

Submitted by[?]: Maroon Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2055

Description[?]:

Now that the balance of power has shifted back in favor of the moderates, I propose that we adopt a more sensible recycling policy, based on economic and common sense.

If the cost of recycling is higher than the cost of producing a new good, then more resources are being used to recycle than would be used to produce a new good. These resources come out of the ecosystem, which means that the environment would be harmed.

On the other hand, if the cost of recycling was lower than the cost of producing new goods, then people would recycle of their own accord since it would save them money.

It's okay for the government to support recycling; but forcing people to is counterproductive.

Random fact: In cases where players have failed to clearly and accurately reference their nation's RP laws in the "Bills under debate" section, Moderation will rule them invalid if a challenge is made to their validity.
