Description[?]:
INTRODUCTION Given that at this current time, the workers of Likatonia are faced with the prospect of being cut-off from their jobs because of age, SLP places a motion down that the age on mandatory retirement be raised. PROPOSAL In keeping the retirement age at 65 or any age, the government is allowing this practice decrimination continue on silently. By raising the bar by five years, we will given people the chance to decide when they want to retire and not force women, or others out of work early before they can qualify for their full pension. This would prevent the state from having to provide excess welfare where not needed, and allow for Likatonians to reach their full potential and retire once they are ready. EXCEPTION CLAUSE I. Should someone be unable to fulfill their job requirements due to natural causes of aging and aging-related illnesses or anything of the like, they may be forced to retire or change jobs, with the discretion of the employer with a doctor or medical professional's advice. II. Should a person have been working fulltime for 30 years, following the end of their education, and contributing to their state pension, they may retire before such a time. III. A self-employeed Likatonian can retire when they so please, but in order to collect a state pension, they should have contributed to their state pension for the 30 years. |

Message | The problem the AAS sees with this legislation, is the fact that pension payments will now be delayed by 5 years. Thus, a man or woman that MIGHT have retired at 65, will now not be eligible for pension payouts until they hit 70. |

Message | Legislated retirement age is the age at which companies can force their employees into retirement. Any employee can actively retire before such times. This just extends the time before which they can be forced to retire. OOC: it is hardly arrogant if I asked that everyone read what is written before they respond because instinct here says to read the proposal then respond. I'm only making a request so that when people post here they have at least read the details of what is being proposed. Thus, paving the way for a constructive debate. |

Message | Exactly instinct says, so why ask us to read it yourself? Have you read any of the other posts? Does it ever appear that we have totally ignored what has been said in the description? |

Message | We'd have love to make it set so you can retire/collect pension after working for 30 years, which would've been a much better alternative to setting an age. |

Message | Retiring at 48? So then you would either have to have saved enough, or have the government provide your pension, for around another forty years? However we are willing to support the proposed bill, as long as there are safeguards concerning pensions. |

Message | That's why, there should be a provision that makes it a requirement that the person has been working full time for x-number of years, or have reached a certain age. But, because the first has no such provision... |
