Why should people be able to kill? Why should we fund that?!

MessageAs to your first point, at what stage the pregnancy is terminated does not matter. It is the choice of the individual woman, not the men of this legislative body. Women will still have these late-term procedures done, they will just be done illegally at incredible risks to themselves, it is the days of such prohibition that has given us the very common "metal coat hanger" reference. I hope that all of us can agree that we would rather provide a safe and professional outlet for women who choose to have this procedure done rather than have deaths on our hands due to illegal abortions where these women had nowhere else to turn.

On your second point, this is a statement regularly made by the wealthy bourgeois who do not understand the situation of the lower classes. These procedures are expensive to the patient and an already poor mother has much more to lose from an unwanted pregnancy, paying for these perfectly acceptable medical procedures in the long run benefits our society in multiple ways. Less unwanted children who ends up orphans who statistically are more likely to commit crimes later in life, more women in the workforce due to not being stuck at their home via childcare, and less expenditure on services that these children would then take up in government benefits, all sides win in this scenario of allowing women the human right to make their own health decisions. I'm aware of the buzzwords and heated rhetoric around the issue of abortion, however both science and ethics is very firmly decided already and the only ones holding onto this ideal of men controlling women's bodies are religious zealots and those not understanding both the value of making your own health choices and the many times desperate situations these women find themselves in where this procedure is necessary.

RZM very strongly opposes this legislation and urges the elected representatives of this body to vote No.
