Bill: The Establishment of the Kalistani Progressive Tax Program

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 3934

Description[?]:

This tax Bill features a linear progressive income tax. We begin by ensuring that all people pay into the system. The Lowest Bracket, 1-16999, pays only 1% flat tax rate. From 17000 to 35000, the rate is 2%, then to 70000, the tax rate is 4%, and then to 140,000, the rate is 8%, then to 280,000 the tax rate is 16%, and then above that line, the rate is 32%.

We have also included a significant decrease in luxury and corporate taxes, and we leave the sales tax at 0. Once we determine the amount of money we have to spend, we will then offer a spending bill which is balanced, and maintains a small surplus, and will focus heavily on social spending.
