Voting deadline: November 2172
Description[?]:
The LSP declares that every Jakanian citizen has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Yet, our current health care system is purposely designed to reward those with the means to pay for specialist doctors, intensive surgery, and patented drugs. Just because one is poor does not mean that he or she should be denied their livelihood. We at the LSP realize that a public health care system would be far too great a burden on the Jakanian taxpayer and would likely end up fairly inefficient. We propose a middle ground between too much help and no help at all by subsidizing the health costs of the poor. By allowing private practices, we can still reward good doctors with more visits and, thus, a better income. Yet, subsidizing the poor's health costs will make sure that no doctor remains too out of reach for anybody. |
