Bill: RCP's Nuclear Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Radical Conservative Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2172

Description[?]:

Recall the final days of World War II. Harry Truman made the decision to drop the nuclear bomb instead of sending troops to death (I forget where they would have invaded). The RCP feels that this policy is necessary. We can't wait until we are brought down like Japan was.

MessageI think it should be unlawful to put "victory" and "nuclear destruction" in the same sentence.

MessageI can see the rationality of using nuclear weapons first. There is an argument that suggests that fewer people died as a result of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki than would have been killed if the war had continued conventionally. However, the risks of allowing a government such as the one we have to have the power to use nuclear weapons basically whenever they feel like it are far too great.
