Bill: Bill Dispute Resolution
Details
Submitted by[?]: Grand Nationalist Fraction
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 3942
Description[?]:
Some bills have been put to voe even before any of the MP's had the chance to discuss the contents. Therefore we suggest to keep bills in debate for at least 4 months. We realise some bills are urgent, and those bills should be put to vote as soon as possible. On passage of this bill, any new proposition, if not urgent, will be under debate for at least 4 months. Message | Mr Speaker, The Court of Shades disagrees with this proposal. Our party believes that parties should do this anyway for their own self-interest. If a bill has been debated, then it has more chance of gaining support and being compromised for. However, passing bills are not the only intention for creating them. Some bills are designed to send political messages and show the public who stands on what side of an issue. These types of bills do not require debate and in fact would waste Parliaments time in debating them. Therefore, the Court of Shades disagrees with this proposal. Message | We agree with CoS, if a party creates a bill, it should be the party that chooses if the bill should be debated or not, some bills would just be a big waste of time debating. Important bills should be debated, but not necessarily all of them, it would just slow the democratic process down George Lodamun PLUP President |

Message | M. Speaker, We echo the sentiments of the CoS and PLUP. Terry Hawthorne Leader of the LPA |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
