Bill: Defence of Decency Act (Interim Measures)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Traditional Alliance

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3954

Description[?]:

We note that the proposed Defence of Decency Act is unlikely to receive sufficient votes in favour to pass. While we remain committed to passing this legislation once we are in government we accept that this will not pass in the current legislature.

This new bill acts as an interim measure, including only the least controversial measure contained in the full Defence of Decency Act. We expect that this measure will attract support from a wide range of parties and we note that a recent opinion poll indicated that the population is overwhelmingly in favour of this position.

We ask that the legislature pass this as an interim measure.

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve.
