Message | We do not want to tax charitable giving. We would tax churches for things like their building and stuff like that, but when they help out the poor, we do not want to tax that. Churches are more efficient than government at allocating resources to the poor, and if we discourage that by taxing it, it will make churches more incline to do things like build flashy buildings and have expensive preachers. |
