Bill: Republican Advocation Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Communist Party of Saridan
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3979
Description[?]:
Mr Spreker, The Communist Party, and I'm sure the Lappies and the LU too wish to create a more fair, democratic society that is completely rid of monarchism. As ranks and money by hereditary right is a symbol of inequality, we the people wish for a democratic society in which we vote for our Head of State as this is an excellent exercise of our political freedoms. This bill is a historic direction towards republicanism and represents true progressive values that reflects a modern society. We hope our comrades will stand in solidarity with this new proposition to create a more fair Saridan. Joseph Burke, General Secretary of the Communist Party. |

Message | Mr. Spreker, After a lenghty internal discussion, the LU has voted to support the proposed measures if Article 3 is removed and Article 2 is altered to contain a more politically neutral name that is not commonly identified as associated with a certain zone of the political spectrum. We acknowledge that these are merely insignificant cosmetic changes, but we believe that even the smallest of good changes are important to this world. Message | Mr Spreker, We feel article 3 isn't assigned to any spectrum as much as it advocates democracy with the people in mind, therefore we ask the LU to reconsider a compromise regarding the name. However, we understand the issue with article 2 and suggest a series of replacements, I ask the LU to select their preferred one: Generalissimo, President, Premier, Primeminister, Chairman. Message | OOC; Wait, the articles changed numbers on my screen. XD I meant Article 1, not 3. I just wanted to say that my party will oppose changing the Federal Parliament's name and would like to see a diffrent HOS name. These game errors can sometimes make things weird. |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
