Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2174
Description[?]:
Given that a student is in school to receive an education as mandated by the federal government, it is in their long term interests that the government set down a set of rules to ensure that while detrimental beahviour doesn't go unpunished, that it doesn't result in corperal punishment. While itis currently preferred to allow the schools to set punishment levels, it is in the better interests of our citizens to have a policy that doesn't have possible consequences of a child being hurt because of excessive use of force. Corperal punishment should remain out of our schools for legal reasons, as to ensure that legal action cannot be pursed against any school or level of government as a result of misguidement in the amount of force used by the disciplining teacher against the offending student. |

Message | SLP believes that even if it is legal, the force exerted may be too damaging depending on the size of the teacher and the student should physical punishment be an option. It is also a good legal measure to protect all those involved from civil or criminal action depending on the extent of damage over the legal limit as permitted under the law that allows the school to set acceptable levels. |

Message | Hmn... perhaps then this should apply strictly to public schools and not private? If the majority agrees, I can change the wording to reflect it, so that it is in tune ith my previous proposal about allowing both private and public schools to co-exist. |
