Bill: Budget Proposal of June 2173

Details

Submitted by[?]: New Daio Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2174

Description[?]:

Defence budget increased to begin to truely rebuild the standing military. Now that we have the money, I'm restoring their funding to prior levels as promised.

Infrastructure reduced slightly to divert funding to Science. Education budget increased. IA budget increased due to increasing population.

Trade and industry budget decreased. We currently have no subsidy of business (corporate welfare). I still must insist, however, that we consider reducing corporate taxes. It is pretty much the only thing we can do to encourage growth at this point, as I wouldn't advocate any kind of subsidy.

MessageOk, if you're going to reduce corporate taxes, do so gradually so we can see exactly what'll happen.

MessageNo problem. I'll reduce it by .5% each time, and take one day to trach the change in growth.

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.

Random quote: "To the youth of America, I say, beware of being trivialized by the commercial culture that tempts you daily. I hear you saying often that you're not turned on by politics. The lessons of history are clear and portentous. If you do not turn onto politics, politics will turn on you." - Ralph Nader
