Bill: Stem Cell Research

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free and Equal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3988

Description[?]:

Stem cell research is extremely important and effective in terms of finding cures for diseases and issues relating to health. The all out ban on stem cell research is an attack on the people's right to be healthy, and scientist's goals to discover ways to better human life. While the personal feelings on the topic of stem research is noted, we must look past backwards philosophies and start living for the future. The future of health could very well be hidden in stem cells, and we will never know if the ban stays in place.

MessageLegalizing some stem cell research is understandable. However, legalizing all stem cell research creates a slippery slope that would effect other laws of the land. Therefore, a complete legalization of stem cell research could be devastative to our legal system.

Random quote: "I worked at a factory owned by Germans, at coal pits owned by Frenchmen, and at a chemical plant owned by Belgians. There I discovered something about capitalists. They are all alike, whatever the nationality. All they wanted from me was the most work for the least money that kept me alive. So I became a communist." - Nikita Khrushchev
