Bill: Repeal: "Retirement Bill"
Details
Submitted by[?]: Agrarian Party of Mordusia
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2175
Description[?]:
Plinio's Followers introduced the professional retirement being rased up to the age of 70. The Democrats think lowering it back to 65 (or compromise) might lower our unemployment, and at least create more jobs for new workers. Besides, we consider it a global fact that many over-65'ers already do not have a job, because they are too expensive for companies to afford. |

Debate
These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:
Date | 00:25:59, January 22, 2006 CET | From | The Mordusian Green Party | To | Debating the Repeal: "Retirement Bill" |
Message | The DP tends to agree. However, since people tend to live longer now, what are these retirees to do now with their extra five years? What about the mental helth concerns that all this extra time is bound to produce in the retirees? |
Date | 00:59:12, January 22, 2006 CET | From | Agrarian Party of Mordusia | To | Debating the Repeal: "Retirement Bill" |
Message | The proposal explicitly mentions "professional retirement" so there are no further regulations. If the retirees would like to do some more administration work in the business of their children, or like to help in the pub they favour, they can. |
