Message | nguSomlomo, Would only that our hon friends in the Ithemba Inhlangano had been slightly more moderate in their presentation of this bill, it would have commanded our wholehearted support. Alas, Article 1 seems to go a bit further than we are willing to countenance--and Article 3 would seem to contradict the meaning of the bill as a whole. If we are to reduce abortion, should we not also reduce the instance of unwanted pregnancy? The contradiction and the stringent terms of Article 1 force us to abstain on this legislation. |

Message | **Minister of Health and Human Services Minenhle Mdluli** "A bill so regressive that even our erstwhile enemies become our allies on this measure, though of course they do not have the backbone to oppose it outright - typical and fully expected. The women of Ibutho shall not be slaves to the government, but wardens of their own bodies under this government. We will crush all such legislation under our boots like insignificant insects." |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
Random quote: "We must show that liberty is not merely one particular value but that it is the source and condition of most moral values. What a free society offers to the individual is much more than what he would be able to do if only he were free. We can therefore not fully appreciate the value of freedom until we know how a society of free men as a whole differs from one in which unfreedom prevails." - Friedrich August Hayek |
