Message | Perhaps you have a different notion of "free". I see you restricting the freedom of workers to establish working conditions that promote their well-being. The only freedom I see you pushing for here is the freedom of the bosses to dictate conditions. It's freedom for the few. Ragnar Hallström FaK Executive Council |

Message | Mr Speaker, It is actually a restriction on freedom on workers to be forced to join a union. There are plenty of workers out there who do not want to be apart of a union, we are making it easier on workers to have a choice on weather to be apart of a union or not. And yes we are giving more freedom to the employers and small business owners so they can run there business, and we know that on this side of the house that if there is less taxation, if there is smaller government and less government intervention into the economy, the economy will grow and an increase of employment, in result more government revenue will flow in, this can help pay for our sprawling welfare state. The Right Honourable Beatrix Ingeborgson Statsminister and Minister for Women |

Message | Freedom not to join a union is the freedom to be used as a strikebreaker by management. If a worker doesn't want to koin a particular union, he can work elsewhere. His rights do not come before the rights of the other workers who organize to defend their livelihoods. If an employer can dictate terms to new employees unilaterally, why can't his colleagues do likewise through democratic consensus? You are restricting freedom to the few, and reducing it to the prerogative of management to get what it wants. Ragnar Hallström FaK Executive Council |
