Message | We could only support this bill if it only applied to the Private Sector. We will not eliminate state monopolies over Petroleum or ferrominerals. Those products are strategic resources which should be managed by the State for the benefit of the state. As it is, this bill contains no such provision, and so the SP cannot possibly support a bill it would otherwise be thrilled to support. |

Message | Funnily enough, it is was our intention to only target the public sector with this measure. We want to privatize many state holdings, not break them up. Monopolies in the private sector are very dangerous. |

Message | Well, then we will never vote for this bill. We agree that monopolies in the private sector are dangerous, and will happily help the NCP in targeting them to expand competition and choice. But we have no intention of reversing public sector operations. |

Message | But so you know: there is in the law a mechanism to abolish the state monopolies. I suggest that the Premier study those laws and go about divestment in that manner. If the NCP can present a case which convinces the SP that these public sector operations should be privatized, the SP is at least willing to listen and be open to change. |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
