Bill: Reverse of Shadowist Reforms - 4008

Details

Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4007

Description[?]:

The name of Lodamun's large Southern province was originally Kregon. It is the traditional name; it was used before and during the first inception of the Great Democratic Republic. The GNRG had disbanded and its members had joined other parties like the NWL and the UDHFU, as key members had to flee due to political persecution. With its leadership in disarray, the Lodamese Nationalist movement was weakened.

Opportunists in the Shadowist cult had taken advantage of the weakness of the Lodamese Nationalist movement, and convinced other parties to abolish the Great Democratic Republic to form the Federal Republic. Under the Federal Republic, Shadowists heavily engaged in revisionism and sought to suppress the Lodamese Nationalist movement while promoting their own creepy cult. They wanted to destroy Lodamun's culture and history to set the conditions for their dominance of politics.

As a part of their revisionism, they renamed the city of Fertig to "Butterman" to appease their coalition partners who were not Shadowists, but still sympathetic to anyone who opposed Lodamese Nationalism. Shadowists also stole most of Lodamun's land, and established the "Shadowlands" in Lodamun's largest province, Kregon. They operated this province like their own little monarchy, taking advantage of Lodamun's federal system to prevent the central government from having too much power there. When the Karavs fled Lodamun, the Shadowists stole their land and buildings and renamed "Fort Karav" to the "City of Shades" - the capital of their cultist empire.

We have abolished the Federal Republic and reinstated the Great Democratic Republic. These very cities are symbols of the destruction of the first instance of the Great Democratic Republic. Shadowists are not even recognised as a legitimate religion in Lodamun any longer. We have abolished titles of nobility, so there is really no reason to preserve the relics of Shadowist power. We can still document things and keep artefacts in museums and schools, but we need to erase this anti-democratic force from our politics.

The Buttermans, while supporting the Shadowists, were not evil people. They were simply deceived. There is no reason to erase their name from the city, because they have contributed to Lodamun's history and culture. For this reason, we propose to rename "Butterman" to "Butterman-Fertig" - this is a compromise. Also, the Karavs no longer live in Lodamun; they had fled to Vanuku. We have no reason to have a city named after them, despite the fact that they built it. Instead of renaming the "City of Shades" to "Fort Karav" - we suggest that it be named "Fort Kregon" and established as the capital of Kregon.

Upon passage of this bill,

- The region of the "Shadowlands" will be renamed to "Kregon"
- The "City of Shades" will be renamed to "Fort Kregon"
- The city of "Butterman" will be renamed to "Butterman-Fertig"

MessageMr. Speaker,

I support everything in this bill except the renaming of the City of Shades. While there may be no more Karavs in Lodamun, they are and will forever be an instrumental part of the history of Fort Karav. We must reflect this and allow the name to stay as Fort Karav.
