Bill: Viable Emergency Option Act of October 2174

Details

Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2175

Description[?]:

Given that while curfews are unfavourable due to the simple reason that they are designed to restrict the movement of our citizens at certain times of the day or night, the government will not impose a regular curfew. However, in dire times, when martial law has been declared due to a state emergency, there is no time to pass into law a legislation that allows for this.

Once martial law, or the state of emergency has been lifted, the curfew associated with it will be lifted. The curfew only remains in effect when it has been declared in relation to the declared state of emergency or martial law.

MessageAs always, AMA opposes any legislation that places curfews 'on the books'. If an emergency arises, we shall deal with it... we should not be building civil rights infringement clauses into our constitution.

Again... AMA is a little surprised to see a party that identifies itself as 'libertarian', following such a policy.
