Message | Why would Anarchists support regulation? |
Date | 23:19:55, April 26, 2016 CET | From | Collective Anarchist Party | To | Debating the National Health Policy Deregulation of 4018 |
Message | Because we're collectivist anarchists. We support the right for people to determine their own fate, but we want to regulate things to give people that opportunity. For example, if people do not have information about what is in their food, how should they make informed decisions? We have to enforce the right of people to have information. And then removing all the parts about adults only is not supported because we want to have a test to determine adulthood, recognizing understanding of the pros and cons of these things. Otherwise, people may not be mature and make poor decisions because they were not informed. |

Message | People have the right to information. Any person can do research on any product. There are many private consumer advocacy groups to help with this. Also, if you are not comfortable with the amount of information available about a product then you have no obligation the purchase the product. The free market will prevail. Products that are labled to the liking of consumers will be more successful. Any mislabling could be considered fraud, which is still illegal and can result in criminal prosecution or civil suits. It is not the place of the goverment to interfere. |
