MessageMr Speaker,

We shall not become a nation of Revolution Exportation, in the sense that we do not contribute militarily to the global left. What we should do instead, is a peaceful agenda to push forward a fairer Terra and let the people of each country decide what is best for themselves. Rutania must not become Terra's police force but a respectful commonwealth that succeeds with diplomacy.

MessageMr Speaker,

That is not the proposal. Our purpose here is not to fund a revolution, since that revolution has already occured. The new government of Ibutho is established, and we are simply proposing to aid them in their efforts to restore order and construct a properly equipped army.

Our motivation does not primarily stem from the political alignment of the new government. This is an opportunity to make alllies in the region, and also an opportunity for the Rutanian defence industry, and one that the Trades Unions and Democratic Workers' Councils in that sector will no doubt welcome.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The left should not turn into a war-hungry cabal of militarists. The true left preaches diplomacy and pacifism as solutions to potentially difficult situations in international affairs. This proposal makes a mockery of leftist tradition and goes against everything that real socialists and greens stand for.

It also goes against Rutania's traditional non-interventionist policy in foreign affairs. We have no right to be meddling in the affairs of other countries. We certainly have no right to fuel conflict and mass murder in any country. This will be a very sad day indeed if this proposal passes.

MessageMr speaker, the government could influence where weapons go. They could go to a dangerous dictator or a vile terrorist. We will not support this bill for our national security.
