Message | Privatizing the service would still land a dangerously large amount of power in the hands of private pimps. Prostitution is a business of exploitation, in which prostitutes are victims. Liberalizing the business would rewards procurers and pimps, and send the signal that the business is moral. Which it is not. The reason we wish to retain government control and recognition of the profession, is because prostitution is inevitable -- there's no question of whether or not it will exist. The question is who will control it -- either exploitative pimps and human traffickers, or the government, in open dialogue with escort services and prostitutes. |
