Message | Nuclear disasters may happen , but the ban of nuclear power plants will let us without an important source of energy , which will cripple the entire sector and ultimately hurt our economy . The Democrats will vote against this bill . |
Date | 19:39:03, May 24, 2016 CET | From | Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Atomic Safety Act |
Message | Mr. Speaker, We would like to see a proposal wherein the government takes no position concerning nuclear power plants, but not permitting it, is a step too far. Rep. Alayna Hackett, Leader LP |
Date | 19:48:15, May 24, 2016 CET | From | Liberal Eco-Socialists | To | Debating the Atomic Safety Act |
Message | Mr Speaker, Nuclear power has been proven to be one of the safest methods of generating power. Yes, we recognize that mishaps may happen but they are few and far between. The constant accidents and emissions caused by fossil fuels contribute to a much greater loss of human life than nuclear power. We believe that a mix of nuclear and renewables are they way foward for not just our nation, but for the planet. Kevin Boscage, Chairman, LES |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Every scientist I know can tell you that Nuclear Power Plants are perfectly save, as long as they're put at a safe location with regular check-ups. Also it costs way less than Wind- or solar energy. So I would ask the R!R to review their stance on this bill. Rep. Alayna Hackett, Leader LP |
Date | 20:17:27, May 24, 2016 CET | From | Democratic Socialist Party of Rutania | To | Debating the Atomic Safety Act |
Message | Mr Speaker, Nuclear power must form a key part of Rutania's energy mix if we are to achieve carbon-free electricity generation in the future. What is R!R's alternative? More emissions? Blackouts? And what about the workers in the nuclear power industry? James Hoare, Minister for Trade and Industry |
Date | 15:13:20, May 27, 2016 CET | From | Alliance | To | Debating the Atomic Safety Act |
Message | Mr Speaker, The true alternative is to use the abundant natural resources of geothermal, tidal, wave, wind and solar power. A completely renewable energy plan is possible with the government's determination and millions of more jobs will be created, not lost, through a comprehensive restructuring of the energy sector with micro-generation installments and central large scale renewable energy plants. Not to mention, blackouts are in fact more likely to occur when a nation uses a small number of reactors that will explode if any mishap occurs. The true destabilizing factor in our power sector is not renewable energy as it is harnessed across the Commonwealth, balancing out climate factors, but nuclear power. I hope the nation agrees.
