Message | Accused or convicted persons are also part of the Republic, is not their safety paramount too? That DNA isn't recorded in databases does not prevent the use of DNA in investigations, it only prevents its permanent storage. This is legal uncertainty in that it discourages the need to tie the prosecuted to the crime scene when their DNA is readily available. It also stamps convicted and - remember - accused for life, regardless if they weren't even convicted in the case of accused. |
Date | 17:51:30, May 30, 2016 CET | From | Bluehawk | To | Debating the DNA Database for Criminals |
Message | A DNA Database would have no negative affect of on a persons safety. It will make crime solving easier and will not be a published or public database. If police have a database to draw from they can solve cold cases easier as well as prove the innocence of the accused easier. |
Date | 19:06:04, May 30, 2016 CET | From | RISE Movement | To | Debating the DNA Database for Criminals |
Message | This is against the basic right to freedom. Just because a person is accused of a crime their DNA should not be recorded. Andrew Smith RISE Leader |
