Bill: Retirement Age

Details

Submitted by[?]: Bluehawk

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 4038

Description[?]:

Currently, the national retirement age is 55. However, with modern medicine and the fact that many jobs now are not high-risk or extremely physical, I believe it would make sense to up the retirement age 5 years. This would allow more growth of a workers retirement fund, allow corporations more flexibility in keeping experienced employees and would have a positive impact on the market as a whole.

MessageRISE are definitely against this. It is not progressive to be increasing it. Through developments in technology we should be reducing both the ages people retire and the hours people work.

MessageRepublican Democratic Party are for this proposal. Increasing the retirement age by 5 years will keep experienced workers in the business. Also it would help keep people fit as the will be working, 55 years is still a young age my party believe and increasing it to 60 will also help more people socialize instead of sitting at home all day and give them something to do. It will also give these experienced workers an opportunity to train and pass on their skills to new employees.

MessageRDP party that's fine if you work in an office, the real truth is millions of this country work in very demanding jobs outside and I don't believe they should be working until 60.

We can advance in technology but we cannot advance in the lives of common people?
