Bill: Power Grid Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green Moderates Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 4040
Description[?]:
This bill proposes to reform the ownership and management structure of the power supply grids within Gaduridos. The GMP believes that the public sector should control the supply network, while energy generation should come from a variety of sources (public, private corps, private individuals through micro-gen). This policy would form regional bodies to maintain regional jurisdiction over a vital piece of the public infrastructure network and the provision of the utility in the public interest. |

Proposal[?] to change Government policy on the nation's power grid.
Old value:: Multiple private companies each own and maintain sections of the national power grid.

Message | We generally oppose state-owned corporations, believing that government really has no place running a business on the free market. We believe the current, privatized system encourages maximum quality with minimum costs, by allowing the market forces to foster competition between businesses. Therefore, we oppose this bill.
