MessageWe oppose such legislation and believe that religion should not be oppressed. We believe it is better for the local schools to decide how to operate their school

MessageUnlike the SCP, we do not see this bill as oppression of religion. Children are free to say their own prayers to themselves if they feel so inclined. The personal religious beliefs of the teacher should not be imposed on a child, especially at such a stage in their lives where they are very much affected by their environment. Therefore, we support this bill.

MessageJust as a matter of clarification, school as are not public space as there is no public school system in Gaduridos. This bill will enact regulation on private schools to adhere to this law unless they are religious schools.

MessageAhh, now I see the concern of the SCP with this legislation. In this scenario, I would agree with the caution of dictating what a private school may or may not do in subjective policy. The GMP supports a pubmic education offering, and this is where the perception was coming from.

MessageThe GMP will abstain from voting on this legislation in order to allow it to be defeated. The concerns of limiting the liberty of private institutions to express chosen faiths without regards to discrimination of others in society are present. Policy changes such as this will be reserved for the scenario when a public offering of education is instituted.

MessageSince the legislation for public school has been proposed and is in the process of voting, we will execute a vote of support on this legislation. There is no sense in all parties being affected by the voting results of this issue twice in a row for the same outcome.

MessageIt has been asked that the GMP abstain from this vote as originally planned. Administrative order and consideration will be observed in accordance with the development of the public school system. If the other parties would please forgive the confusion and waffling.
