Details
Submitted by[?]: Green Moderates Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 4040
Description[?]:
This bill proposes policy changes to benefit the welfare of current and future children within Gaduridos. Article 1 - To provide funding subsidies for abortion to low-income families would ensure that an unwanted or unintentional pregnancy would not result in the birth of an "unwanted" child. The law currently provides legality for abortions during the first-trimester of pregnancy. This bill would support the availability of this service to women making less than the poverty income threshold. With contraception, this bill provides additional family planning options. Article 2 - To reduce the incentive to employ children in a place of business. This article seeks to improve the employment conditions for those children that are working, while preventing the exploitation of them by employers. General unemployment among adults is also to benefit from this initiative. Children should be encouraged through all means to complete a sufficient level of education. |

Debate

Message | The GMP would support universal funding of abortion services for all citizens as a means of family planning. The GMP supports policy initiatives that are delivered in a uniform manner, rather than specifically targeting low-income demographics. The GMP would also support the complete prohibition of all child labor, especially as part of a move to provide more public education infrastructure and provision of these services for children. Outlawing child labor assists to reduce overall unemployment and to discourage children from leaving the education system prematurely. With no explicit statement on those individuals that do not complete the traditional system of education, whether public or private, the GMP maintains the position that graduates offer society a statistically more stable and prosperous contribution. |

Message | We support Article 1, but would like it to be noted in the bill description that the funding is very limited and meant only for the poorest in Gaduridos. We also support Article 2, after reviewing our old stance on the issue and reevaluating the party's platform. Nina Pelosi Head Representative, NDP |

Message | Even without the note in the bill description stressing the limited funding for abortions for the poorest of Gaduridos, we will still vote yes. Our representatives will work to limit and regulate funds for the abortion program in the budgeting process to come. Nina Pelosi Head Representative, NDP |
