Message | I would rather we go back to Ikradon in this case. Plus I hope to make Luthori an official language too eventually. |

Message | Ikradon hasn't existed for nearly 600 years. We did write some Ikradonians into the new cultural protocol though, so you can play as them. |

Message | And Luthori is a minority language too. It will never be the official language here. But there are several English language countries for you to choose from. |

Message | I'm thinking of RL African countries with English as an official language. |

Message | Like I said Hawu Mnhs already has English-speaking minorities. The Esinsundu-Rutanians, the Ibutho-Luthori, and the Luthori minority all speak English. Maybe the Ikradonian nomads speak English too, who knows? If you play them, we'll find out. And Hawu Mumenhea isn't a real life African country. If we wanted to play a real life country we wouldn't have had to go to the trouble of writing the CP and constitution. Or playing the game at all for that matter. |

Message | Of course. Is Hawu Mumenhes in any particular RL timeframe? (I remember seeing one country that is sometime in/equivalent to the 1800s) |

Message | It's modern-day. The architecture will have a futuristic feel though, so Hawu will look futuristic. Likatonia is supposed to be based on 1800s United States. But I think that's just to give a background story for Likatonian politics (confederacy, enslavement, frontier gold mining, etc). All particracy countries are basically modern day. You seem cool, I hope you stick around and play with us. Read the constitution we wrote when you get a chance -- I personally think it's gonna make Hawu the most fun country to play in the whole game. |

Message | Kingman, did you used to play in Ikradon? What party did you play? |

Message | No, I'm new to the game. I tried Rutania and Lodamun before coming here, but I wish there's an easier way for newbs to try out different countries. There's also a fairly steep learning curve (I really appreciate the welcome though!). BTW, I intend my party to be bilingual, so the Luthori/English name stays, but I would appreciate it if you gave me a translation for "People's Party" or told me what RL language Hawu Mumenhes uses/is based on. |

Message | Hawu Mumenhes is Ancient Egyptian. A translation for People's Party might be "xadtu nit zas citioru" which means Group for the People. Raaper (Resurgence) might have a better translation for you. And here's a good translator you can use yourself: http://medu.ipetisut.com/index.php Yea, I'm with you on the learning curve. I used to play the game back in 2004 or 2005 and stopped playing for years. When I came back years later, all the changes and rules were frustrating. I still think most of them are bad for the game, but they do help us keep each country's story and history alive, so that's a good thing. Don't be intimidated by anything, ask us anything and we'll help you. Like I said we want you to stay, so anything you need, let us know. |
